IEEE Future Directions SusTech Initiative presented a one-day pre-conference workshop on “Technologies for a Circular Economy” on Sunday, 20 April from 8am-4pm PT at the 2025 IEEE SusTech Conference.
About the workshop: Building a circular economy is becoming increasingly recognized as a means of achieving a variety of sustainability goals. From the long-term availability of natural resources, to the protection and recovery of ecosystems from global pollution, the benefits of such a system of production and consumption can be far-reaching, if implemented judiciously. This workshop introduced the topic of circular economy and examine several areas where technological advances or scaling are needed. Expert presentations and discussion topics were included.
